Energy Programs

Three New Energy Landmark Case Studies, Two Runner-Ups

Our energy peer review panel has designated three new case studies: Energy Star, Fort Collins Efficiency Works, and Ohm Connect's #OhmHour Program. Landmark designation recognizes programs and social marketing approaches considered to be among the most successful world-wide. Designation is based on panel ratings for program impacts, innovation, replicability, and adpatability to other behaviors. We will be posting these new Landmark case studies over the coming months, as well as the two runner-ups, Familles à énergie positive and PG&E's Step Up and Power Down - Commercial.

The panel that designated the Landmark case studies in 2017 consisted of:

  • Arien Korteland, BC Hydro
  • Kathy Kuntz, Cool Choices
  • Doug McKenzie-Mohr, McKenzie-Mohr Associates
  • Brian Smith, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company
  • Marsha Walton, the New York Energy Research and Development Authority, and
  • Reuven Sussman, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy

New 5 Min. Case Study Video

Missed the webinar? Got five minutes? We have a video for you. We are testing out how useful it is to provide short You Tube videos. Each video will summarize one Landmark case study in under five minutes ... short enough to show to others at Board, Council and other planning meetings. The first energy video covers Get Energized Iowa!, which was awarded our Landmark designation in 2015. While this video is based entirely on the slide show and audio track delivered during the case study webinar, future videos will focus more on live video. Depending on the reception to and use of these videos, we will decide if we will produce more.
