Volunteer Community Health Ambassadors, South Riverdale Community Health Centre

South Riverdale Community Health Centre is currently looking for Volunteer Community Health Ambassadors who would be interested in delivering basic health education workshops to community residents on issues of local health-related concern. The goal of this project is to reach out to underserved populations in the South Riverdale area and improve their capacity to achieve and maintain good health. Community Health Ambassadors will receive training in the basic principles of health promotion, adult education, resource development, and group facilitation. Once trained, the Ambassadors will present health education workshops on a monthly basis. During this time, Ambassadors will receive supervision and ongoing professional development. Participants will be involved in all aspects of the project including program planning and evaluation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to become involved in the community while developing and enhancing new skills. Travel expenses will be covered and a small honorarium will be provided to volunteers who commit to one year of service.
