Contract Job Opportunity, Peel Heart Health Network


Role: Complete an environmental scan of health related programs targeting children and youth available to schools and community groups
Responsibilities & Duties

School programs and Community resources

* Environmental scan of resources for community groups and curriculum support materials for schools

* Determine if a database base exists outlining the resources and programs

* Identify how educators and community groups access information and resources

* Determine vehicles available to disseminated information to educators and support staff at school boards

* Consult with the advisory committee on an ongoing basis for direction and support

* Prepare a report and present findings to committee

* Identify gaps in programs and services and how we might meet these gaps

* Develop a critical path for the next phase of the project



Qualification:

* minimum college diploma or post secondary education in a related field

* IT literate (MS Office and Internet)

* prior experience in research, data gathering and statistical report writing

* excellent communication skills

* extensive knowledge of community agencies and programs within the Region of Peel

* some knowledge of how school boards work

* self-directed, motivated and organized

* experience developing a critical path



Term

* March 2004-May 2004 (8 weeks)

* Four days per week--option to work five days if needed (7 hours/day)

* Hourly Wage: $25.00/hour (mileage included), no benefits
