Environmental Research and Policy Analyst, Peel Health

Contract, 12 months

Your primary role is to act as a consultant on environmental health issues. You will research issues, including evaluating epidemiological and toxicological studies, conducting health risk assessments, and facilitating risk management strategies involving community, government and non-government stakeholders. Other responsibilities include designing and conducting environmental health research studies, sometimes involving external contract administration, developing policy positions on various environmental issues, and monitoring and evaluating the local implications of provincial and federal health policy decisions.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of current environmental public health issues and possess environmental risk assessment and management skills equivalent to a master's degree in environmental sciences, health sciences or a related discipline. Excellent analytical, research, administrative and consultative abilities, strong computer proficiency and a minimum of three years of related experience is expected.

Salary range: $43,081-58,287. Quote posting # 02-268.
