Sandy Hill Community Health Centre - Executive Director


Sandy Hill Community Health Centre is a private, community-based, non-profit, charitable organization working with people in Sandy Hill and Ottawa East to maintain the best possible health for individuals, families and the community as a whole. SHCHC is one of the oldest community health centres in Ontario and now has a staff of 100 people in 6 programs.



Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations and management of the Centre, as well as liaison with the Board of Directors and its committees, funders, planning bodies and health agencies. The incumbent will have superior leadership and management skills needed to guide a strong, committed multi-disciplinary team of social and health professionals.



Qualified applicants must have a Master's degree in health administration, business administration, health sciences or related discipline (or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience), pertinent management experience in the non-profit sector, as well as demonstrated experience with Boards of Directors and committees. The new Executive Director will have knowledge of community health issues and current health reform issues in the province of Ontario, in Canada and in Ottawa-Carleton, knowledge of program development and evaluation, as well as general management, financial and human resources issues. Proficiency in both official languages is required or the willingness and ability to undertake French language

training to become bilingual. Knowledge of microcomputers is a definite asset.



Salary: $66,000 - $80,000 + excellent benefits
