Bilingual Health Promotion Officer


Our Child & Adolescent Division of the Health Department has an immediate opening for a full-time permanent:

You will assist school board officials, teachers, parents and community groups in developing and implementing strategies to promote healthy lifestyles and choices in children and adolescents. The initial focus will be to improve the dental health of children in need, including developing community resources to foster a better understanding of lifestyle, diet and personal care.



You possess a university degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in marketing health promotion initiatives, dealing with child growth and development issues, working with families and children and teaching groups. You have developed excellent skills and abilities by undertaking a variety of community mobilization/development initiatives. Your collaborative approach enables you to establish strong working relationships with partners. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English and French, the ability to manage multiple priorites to meet deadlines, and demonstrated creative problem solving skills are essential.



A valid unrestricted Class G driver's license and access to efficient, reliable transportation is required. Experience in dental health would be a definite asset.
