Cornell Gerontology Research Institute: An Edward R. Roybal Centre for Research on Applied Gerontology

An applied research institute that focuses on improving the social integration of seniors. Their ultimate goal is to integrate seniors into the community to improve their physical and mental well-being. Project topics include retirement, social isolation, gaps in formal services and the network deficits of family caregivers. Core activities of the institute include fostering collaboration among social scientists in the research of social integration, and of the links between research institutions and community groups that work with older adults. They also aim to improve the measurements of social integration.
