Toronto Women's Health Network [TWHN]

The TWHN is a feminist educational and information-sharing network which has been in existence since 1981. The TWHN maintains a commitment to the belief that women are their own experts with respect to their health care.

The TWHN has been involved in advocacy work on a variety of women's health issues in the form of facilitating action groups (such as DES Action) and lobbying at the local, provincial and federal level.

We produce a newsletter 10 times a year which contains current information about women's health resources and upcoming events. We meet on a monthly basis (the 3rd Monday) in a wheelchair accessible location in downtown Toronto. We welcome women of differing backgrounds. We maintain several sub-committees in which members are welcome to become involved.

TWHN Information pamphlets include:

* Hysterectomy: Is it Necessary [aussi disponible en francais]

* Your Doctor Says..."You need a Hysterectomy," Do you?

* Hormone Replacement Therapy: the good, the bad and the confusing
