Priorities, developments in alcohol policy in Ontario

The Ontario Public Health Association's Alcohol Policy Network and the Addiction Research Foundation are teaming up to distribute two excellent resources for those working to reduce alcohol and other drug problems in their communities.

For a limited time only, groups across Ontario that order a copy of APN's "Priorities, developments in alcohol policy in Ontario", will receive a copy of the Addiction Research Foundation's "Drugs in Ontario" free of charge. Both publications feature:

* key facts on health, social and legal problems associated with alcohol and other drugs

* an overview of recent developments in alcohol and other drug policy

* information on new and innovative health promotion, treatment and enforcement initiatives

* a list of relevant publications, Internet sites and groups to contact for more information.

Written in accessible language and full of useful tables and charts, these publications are ideal orientation, reference and teaching resources for public health, injury prevention and addictions professionals, health promoters, police officers, educators, peer counsellors, policy makers, board members and community volunteers.

Each set of Priorities/Drugs in Ontario costs $20 (includes postage and handling). Approximate retail value $33. Offer available while quantities last. Proceeds will help offset production costs.

The Alcohol Policy Network is a project of the Ontario Public Health Association. Its mission is to educate Ontarians about alcohol, health and public policy. With the help of a province-wide group of experts, APN produces publications, including a bi-monthly fax-newsletter, organizes workshops and seminars, and maintains a web site full of useful information on current developments in alcohol policy.
