Update on maternal immunization: Universal Tdap for pregnant women in Canada, The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada

March 28, 2018

12:00-12:45 p.m. EDT

2018 is an exciting year for immunization in pregnancy - one of the most exciting we've seen since the pandemic influenza vaccine was rolled out during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic.

This year, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) will be releasing an updated statement on Tdap in pregnancy as well as updating the chapter in the Canadian Immunization Guide related to pregnancy and breastfeeding. The SOGC will also be releasing an updated version of its Clinical Practice Guideline on Immunization in Pregnancy.

Join us for this webinar to be at the forefront of these developments and to learn how to implement these updated guidelines into your practice or health care setting.

About the presenter:

Dr. Vanessa Poliquin is the obstetrician-gynecologist for the Manitoba HIV Program and is involved in a number of national collaborations related to immunizations in pregnancy. She is also a member of the SOGC’s Infectious Diseases Committee. Presently, she is enrolled in the Clinician Investigator Program at the University of Manitoba as well as a Master’s Degree Program in Epidemiology through the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
