This three-hour session covers topics related to the utility of having a logic model of the program / intervention / service in informing its evaluation, the process for developing a logic model, the principles underlying a robust evaluation, factors to account for in planning an evaluation, and essential elements of a plan for doing the evaluation. The session consists of discussion and group work aimed to apply the knowledge learned in a preselected case.

Objectives:

At completion of the session, attendees will be able to:

  • Appreciate the role and develop a logic model of the health program / intervention / service under evaluation.
  • Understand the principles for a robust evaluation.
  • Generate a plan for evaluating a health program / intervention / service.
