SafelyFed Canada is bringing TIGERS back to Toronto for one screening only. Premiering to critical acclaim at TIFF in 2014, TIGERS from Oscar-winning director Danis Tanovic is the real-life story of a young salesman whose life is changed when he realizes that the infant formula he is peddling to doctors with gifts and incentives has deadly consequences for the families of his city.
Join us for this special screening followed by a Q&A with the real-life hero of the film, Syed Aamir Raza Hussain, whose courageous stand drove him from his home in Pakistan and eventually to settle as a refugee in Canada. It took seven long years for him to be reunited with his family in the GTA, where they now live. His story and the evidence he gathered continues to shed light on the predatory global practices of Nestle and other infant food manufacturers around the world.
Tickets are $15. A cocktail reception will be held following the screening in support of SafelyFed Canada (http://safelyfed.ca), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving infant feeding emergency response in Canada through advocacy, training and public awareness.
