KFL&A Public Health is a local public health agency with over 200 staff and 150 volunteers who deliver public health programs and services to the people of the KFL&A area. There is an immediate opening for a Public Health Nurse, Substance Misuse and Injury Prevention within the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Division.
The Public Health Nurse will promote and protect the health and well-being of individuals and communities, in multiple sites such as clinics, homes, schools, workplaces and the community at large. The Public Health Nurse will use evidence based practice to inform health policies, practices and programs, and to implement Ontario Public Health Standards and protocols.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing which includes public health nursing preparation and be eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Previous experience in health promotion and disease and experience with tobacco prevention, protection, cessation and advocacy is preferred.
