Choices & Changes: Clinician Influence and Patient Action for Healthcare Providers, Institute for Health Care Communication

Developed by The Institute for Health Care Communication, Choices & Changes is an interactive evidence-based workshop which introduces health care providers to behaviour change theory and teaches brief, efficient communication strategies which can be used to support patients to adopt healthy behaviours. 

The skills from the Choices & Changes workshop can be applied in one-on-one client visits and shared with colleagues within your organizations.  This workshop is best suited for representatives of your organization who have a role in promoting healthy behaviours and Choices & Changes is offered free of charge to participants.

Physicians, nurses, diabetes educators, social workers, psychologists, pharmacists, addiction counselors, health educators, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, and community support workers have attended the program.
We still have spots available for healthcare providers to attend a Choices & Changes workshop on:

  • September 29, 2014 at the Central East CCAC, Lindsay Branch
  • October 3rd, 2014 at the Central East CCAC, Scarborough Branch
  • December 4th, 2014 at the Central East CCAC, Whitby Branch

The program is designed for small groups from 6 (min.) to 20 (max.) participants, and can be arranged at your employment location, (subject to room availability) on a date which works best for you and your team.
