Conversations at the Royal : “The Psychiatry of the Future: computerized therapy, virtual reality, brain implants and other fantasies”

This "Conversation" will be about how the use of technology could transform what we are doing in mental health care. It will look at treatment by computers, home monitoring of health, the use of robots in mental health care and the possibility of brain implants as treatments of the future. Dr. Simon Hatcher (of The Royal’s Anxiety Program) will describe current examples of these technologies and how we could be using them at The Royal. In addition, he will describe some of the potential disadvantages and problems still to be overcome.
