Position = Coordinator, Community Health Centres of Greater Toronto
Agency = Community Health Centres of Greater Toronto
Remuneration = $3,000 per month plus approved expenses.
 
Community Health Centres of Greater Toronto (CHC GT) is a network of Community Health Centres in the Greater Toronto area. CHC GT increases the capacity of Greater Toronto CHCs to collaborate and function as a system in service delivery, operational management, and urban health agenda development and promotion.  Activities of the network include: Networking & information sharing; Providing a forum for learning; Strategic sector analysis and positioning of CHCs within larger health and social service systems; Speaking collectively on common issues impacting CHCs and our clients andcommunities; Identifying and pursuing joint/collaborative work among network members; Facilitating the GTA CHC participation ion the Association of Ontario Health Centres  The network consists of four standing committees:  Executive Directors Committee; Clinical Programs Committee; Finance Directors Committee; Program Managers Committee
 
Position Details

Provides project management support as determined by the Executive Director Committee including but not limited to:

  • Develop project charters and operational plans
  • Act as project manager as assigned
  • Drafting and submitting funding applications and/or business plans budgeting
  • Preparing and delivering reports and presentations
  • Working within project budgets

Provides administrative support/coordination among /for each of the Committees within the network including:

  • Maintaining network contact lists
  • Managing and distributing material for meetings including taking and distributing minutes
  • Handling all meeting logistics
  • Receiving and coordinating queries to the network
  • Drafting and managing correspondence for the network
  • Assisting with network planning and workplan implementation
  • Contributing to capacity building within the network

The Coordinator is expected to maintain a home office and is not an employee of the CHC GT nor any individual community health centre. The Coordinator is expected to maintain a flexible schedule in order to participate in activities throughout the week.  Supervision & Accountability: Supervision is provided by the Chair of the Executive Director Committee. Regular reporting of activities and accomplishments to the network membership is required.  
 
Required Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • 2 3 years experience in community based sector
  • 2 3 years experience in coalition/network development
  • Knowledge of health and social systems dynamics
  • Knowledge and experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • General office, administrative, computer experience and competence
  • Well organized
  • Good writing skills
  • Able to work effectively independently and with network members
