The Health Data Analyst is responsible for extracting, manipulating, interpreting, analyzing and explaining health-related data from local, provincial and federal data sources. Develop and present descriptive reports.

Will support Geographical Information Systems (GIS) development and use within the agency. Generate maps for communication, program planning and evaluation initiatives.

Will provide professional advice and support on the creation and implementation of appropriate data gathering instruments.

Will investigate, analyze and develop methods, processes and procedures to increase the efficiency of health database use by end-users, and to achieve and maintain a high level of data quality. Will provide reference material to document best-practices for data management methods and procedures. Provide training and technical support to staff.

Will research and implement software applications that increase efficiency in program areas

Areas of Responsibility:

Investigate and analyze internal, provincial and federal databases. Generate reports.
Evaluate the usability and limitations of health databases.
Develop internal methods, processes and procedures that strive to achieve high data quality.
Develop internal best practices and auditing processes.
Work with government agencies to analyze, evaluate and solve database inefficiencies.
Hours of Work: Regular office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Position Effective: February 12th, 2018

Requirements:

4 Year Undergraduate Degree in research data related field
Minimum 3 year practical work related experience.
Communication Skills including Presentation and Writing Skills

Generation of Reports, Performance Statistical Analysis.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Mapping Skills
