Durham Forum on Poverty Reduction

Westminster United Church, 1850 Rossland Road East
1:00-4:00 p.m.

Space is limited so please RSVP by September 14th if you plan to attend.

The Community Development Council Durham and our community partners invite you to join us for the Durham Forum on Poverty Reduction. This event is part of a provincial initiative, coordinated by the Social Planning Network of Ontario, a network of local and regional social planning councils in communities throughout Ontario. The purpose of the event is twofold:

  1. To advance a poverty reduction strategy for Canada and the province of Ontario that will promote policy action at the federal and provincial levels that will lead to serious reductions of child and family poverty in our communities.
  2. To open dialogue on local poverty issues and to discuss strategies to coordinate poverty reduction initiatives in our community while providing support for the implementation of a provincial strategy for the permanent reduction of child and family poverty in Ontario.

The event will be facilitated by the Community Development Council Durham with our colleagues from the Social Planning Network of Ontario, Marvin Novik and Peter Clutterbuck.
