Project Manager, Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance of Canada

Reports To: Executive Director
Length of Contract: June 25, 2007- March 31, 2008

Job Summary 

The Project Manager is responsible for the on-going coordination of CDPAC projects. This includes working with volunteer teams and consultants as well as communicating to large groups of stakeholders and planning of events.  
 
Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Provide support and coordination to CDPAC projects which includes planning stakeholder events, working with consultants and ensuring quality project deliverables
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external organizations and internal stakeholders

Communication

  • Conducts searches for information and synthesize results into formal and informal reports to support effective decision-making
  • Write and develop communication products such as newsletters and  web site information to support project goals
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, briefing materials, draft reports and/or presentations to support internal and external communication

Qualifications

  • University degree and/or equivalent experience in a public health related field
  • Solid conceptual understanding of health and its broad determinants
  • Proven ability to liaise with a large group of diverse stakeholders with multiple needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially writing and editing skills for all media and audiences
  • Superior computer skills including web-based applications
  • Written and verbal fluency in French and English is a strong asset
