Francophone Network & Promotions Assistant, Women Affiliate, Canadian Health Network

Position Type: Consultant 1 day per week for up to 6 months

The Canadian Health Network (CHN) (http://www.canadian-health-network.ca) is a national, bilingual, non-commercial website funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada.  Women's College Hospital, the Women Affiliate for the CHN, is the CHN's content specialist in the area of women's health.

We are currently seeking a bilingual consultant to build and sustain the francophone component of the Women Affiliate's network.  The Women's Affiliate of the CHN draws on a national network of organizations--called network contributors--that contribute women's health resources and expertise to the CHN.  For example, the Women Affiliate may rely on its networks to

  • Provide health information resources
  • Assist in answering requests for health information
  • Develop feature articles and answers to frequently asked questions
  • Participate in identifying and filling information gaps
  • Promote the CHN to their members and the public

The Network and Promotions Assistant would be responsible for

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and recruiting francophone network contributors in Project Priority areas
  • Maintaining and nurturing relationships with francophone network contributors
  • Working with Promotions and Communications Specialist to plan and execute a strategy to promote the CHN to francophone women and women's health organizations
  • Tracking promotional activities
  • Assisting in preparation of reports  

Qualifications

  • Fluently bilingual (French & English)
  • Strong knowledge of women's health issues and women's health community
  • Experience building a network of organizations
  • Strong networking skills and ability to collaborate well with non-profit organizations, government and other team members
  • Experience or knowledge of working with Francophone women's health organizations
  • Strong knowledge of health promotion principles, the determinants of health and how they affect women
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to accept and offer feedback
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team player
  • Results-oriented individual, able to meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite

Educational Experience

  • Post Secondary degree or recognized equivalent in Social Sciences, Women's Studies or Health Promotion.  

Salary Range: $48,750-$50,700 (pro rated)
