Be a Change Agent for Transforming Toronto's Health System
Our client, the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (Toronto Central LHIN) is transforming health care in Toronto based on the identified needs and priorities of the local community and provincial priorities. The Toronto Central LHIN is responsible for planning, coordinating, integrating and funding of the local health system. This encompasses engagement of over 1.2 million residents, over 200 local health service providers and $3.8 billion of funding.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Planning, Integration and Community Engagement, the Senior Community Engagement Consultant is responsible for effective community and stakeholder consultation and engagement practices within an area of great diversity. Your work will be based on the LHIN's values and principles for effective community engagement, planning and decision making. Community engagement methods will include, among others, conferences, round tables, workshops, and web based technologies.
You will be responsible for: creating innovative opportunities for community participation; planning, leading and facilitating community consultations on complex issues; and advising and coaching LHIN staff on effective participatory methods. You will liaise with the LHIN's Communications Specialist and work on a daily basis with a Community Engagement Consultant.
Qualifications - The successful candidate will have post-secondary education or training in public participation, communications, community development, public administration or a health related field. Demonstrated experience in community outreach with diverse or marginalized populations, public consultation, facilitation techniques, effective partnership skills in a diverse environment and excellent project management skills; superior interpersonal and relationship management skills, supported by excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of the local health system and its sectors is essential. Another language would be an asset.
