The South Riverdale Community Health Centre is looking for a part-time Community Dietitian to join the Health Promotion Team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct service to clients.
  • Plans, implements and evaluates community nutrition education and health promotion groups
  • Develops and evaluates nutrition education resources and counseling materials
  • Acts as a nutrition consultant to other CHC staff, professionals in training, community agencies and groups
  • Advocates on food access issues on behalf of clients and agencies

Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of, and proficiency in nutrition care
  • Excellent communication and group facilitation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the impact of social, economic, environmental, and cultural issues in diet, nutrition and food access
  • Commitment to community-based health care and knowledge of community-based resources
  • Understanding and sensitivity to urban health issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak and write Chinese an asset

Education

  • University degree in food and nutrition
  • Completion of an accredited Dietetic internship
  • Membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada
