Contract: approximately one year
As a key member of our General Programs inspection team, you will
investigate health hazards and enforce compliance under various
protocols, Acts, Regulations, Guidelines and Municipal By-laws related
to food safety, communicable disease and water quality.
If you possess
- a University degree in applied science with a
major/specialization in public health plus a Canadian Institute of
Public Health Inspectors certification combined with experience as a
public health inspector - knowledge of Health Protection & Promotion Act, Mandatory
Programs and Services Guidelines & Protocols, and other applicable
legislations/regulations - excellent communication (both verbal and written), presentation, investigative, and problem solving skills
- strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and the ability to work independently
- proficient computer skills (Windows XP, MSWord, Internet)
- an ability to travel to various regional locations and a
willingness to work some evenings and weekends, we would like to hear
