Bilingual Administrative Assistant, Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse

The Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse (OPC) is a health promotion and prevention agency providing information, education, consultation, and networking services in French and English province wide. Please see for more information. The successful applicant will provide administrative support to OPC programs and contribute to the overall administrative team. This is a one- to two-year contract position depending on funding, with the potential for permanent placement. Part time or full time.
1-2 year contract

Start Date: late November


* Administrative activities within the team (e.g., reports, workplans, electronic newsletters)

* Internal meetings, including logistics and minutes when requested

* Support assigned components of websites, including maintenance, monitoring, updating, and improvement

* Support the adaptation or translation of resources and materials

* Support resource and promotional material development including liaison with researchers, writers, designers, translators, printers, and other vendors

* Inventory monitoring and maintenance of resource materials

* Resource holdings (e.g., books, journals) administration

* Assigned databases, including maintenance, monitoring, updating, and improvement

* Respond to general inquiries, some reception

* Prepare cheque requisitions

* General administrative functions (photocopy, file, fax, travel arrangements, etc.) as required


* Excellent oral and written proficiency in both French and English

* Community college certificate plus clerical/technical experience or equivalent combination

* Minimum three years experience in an administrative capacity, preferably in a non-profit, health promotion or social service environment

* Excellent skills in MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Access)

* Strong data entry skills and experience in maintaining databases

* Strong administrative and organizational skills, with a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to work with multiple projects and demands simultaneously

* Excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a team
