Project Manager, Continuous Improvement, City of Hamilton


The City of Hamilton is an award winning, model sustainable community with many amenities. We currently have several opportunity with our Social & Public Health Services Department for Project Managers, Continuous Improvement.



Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement, the Project Managers will be responsible for the management of specific continuous improvement projects and investigative assignments and recommending innovative policies and processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency. These positions manage projects in a variety of staff resource configurations and are accountable for ensuring that assigned projects are delivered with due consideration to the identification and control of project scope, schedule, cost and the management of associated risks. The Project Managers provide leadership, guidance, innovative problem solving, and achieve results through effective teamwork.



The Project Managers use a "best practices" approach in the project plan development and resource planning including project scope, schedule, budget, staff and risk management as well as conducting evaluations and making recommendations for improvements. Additionally, the positions will confirm funding and commitment from project sponsors, stakeholders and team members, negotiate with vendors and contractors and direct agencies/suppliers in the development and execution of related services.



You have a university degree or equivalent experience in business planning and analysis, fiscal management and performance measurement and evaluation coupled with progressively responsible project management and supervisory experience. You have superior facilitation, negotiation, leadership, conflict resolution, organizational, research and communications skills. Experience in the social services or public health sector an asset.
