1. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the incumbent will take the lead in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive population-based approach to a collaborative, multi-sector community project to promote healthy pregnancy and child development.
2. Reporting to the Director, Healthy Lifestyles, the incumbent will participate in the planning of community injury prevention projects. This will involve the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive population-based multi sectorial projects to reduce the risk of injuries in children 0-6 years and liaison with other departments involved in family abuse prevention initiatives.
A baccalaureate degree in health promotion/education or a baccalaureate degree in a health related discipline in which the applicant has successfully completed full courses in each of the following areas:
a) health promotion principles including community development and social marketing;
b) program planning and/or program evaluation;
c) epidemiology; and
d) behaviour psychology.
Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Group facilitation skills. Computer skills and use of the internet is required. A valid drivers licence and vehicle are required as well as a satisfactory police reference check.
