The Survivor Challenge Symposium

Presented by the Ontario Drug Awareness Partnership and the FOCUS Resource Centre, for Drug Awareness Committees, FOCUS Community Projects and people working in injury and substance abuse prevention fields.



ODAP Participants attend until after lunch on March 5, then FOCUS Community Projects will continue with their annual meeting till closing on March 6.



Highlights include

* "Drug Awareness Survivor Challenge"

* Workshops on Primary Prevention for Grades K-6 (Ontario Pharmacists Association and Alcohol and Drug Concerns); FAS/FAE Information and Resources (Hamilton Drug Awareness Committee); Working with Workplaces (EAP Consultants from Corrections Canada, Budweiser Canada, Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation); Speakers' Corner with three speakers on three "Hot Issues"; Creative Partnerships

* Bear Pit session: "New resources for youth: Are we promoting health or are we promoting

drugs?"

* Special guest Dr. Ed Adlaf, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Principal Researcher, The Ontario Student Drug Use Survey, 2001



Registration is free. Continental breakfasts and lunches provided.

Evening reception, March 4 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
