About the Fund

The Ontario Active School Travel Fund is an initiative of the Ontario Active School Travel program - a three-year pilot of a provincial framework for increasing active transportation for school journeys. The project is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education and is being managed and delivered by Green Communities Canada.

The ultimate goal of the project, and its partners, is to achieve population-level change – to reverse the decline in active school travel in Ontario, and to establish a culture of walking and wheeling for school journeys.
