New Report--Towards a Healthier Canada: 2017 Progress Report on Advancing the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Framework on Healthy Weights, Pan-Canadian Public Health Network

We are pleased to inform you that, at their meeting on October 20, 2017, Federal, Provincial and Territorial (F/P/T) Ministers of Health and Healthy Living endorsed and released the 2017 e-Report on Healthy Weights. The joint Ministerial Message with the F/P/T Ministers responsible for Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (SPAR) continues to demonstrate shared leadership on promoting healthier living.

This third e-Report provides an update of the most recently available data on indicators of healthy weights. A health inequalities lens was also added to the 2017 e-Report, a new feature for this year. We invite you to review the 2017 e-Report and encourage you to share it with your networks:

Ministers of Health were also provided with an update on work being led by F/P/T SPAR Ministers on the progress being made in harmonizing approaches to concussion prevention and management in sport.

The Health Ministers Meeting Communiqué includes references to the 2017 e-Report and concussion in sport:

We look forward to continuing to collaborate with multiple partners at all levels as we strive to advance these important public health issues over the coming years in order to help Canadians live healthier lives.
