Understanding Concussions in Canadian Schools, Ophea

Online
April 25 or April 26, 2017

1:00–2:00 p.m. EDT

Please join us, along with stakeholders from across Canada, for a webinar presentation highlighting the results of a national scan of legislation, policies and protocols related to school-based concussion prevention, identification and management.

The national scan, funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada, has several components that will be highlighted in the webinar:

  • A literature review of current Canadian research on concussions in schools.
  • A web scan of current provincial/territorial and national legislation, policies and protocols in schools.
  • A summary of key informant input from many provinces and territories on current practices and challenges related to school-based student safety guidelines and concussion protocols.
  • A case study of Ontario, profiling key milestones in the evolution of a coordinated and consistent approach to concussion practices within its 72 school boards.

This informative presentation will also include time for questions and discussion.

Presenters:  Susan Snelling and Nancy Schad

Registration for both webinar dates can be found at Ophea.net.

Please note that registration closes on Monday April 24th, 2017 at 12:00 pm EDT.
