Information Resources on Radon and How to Protect Kids from this Indoor Lung Cancer Risk, Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment

The Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE) is pleased to offer outreach materials on radon and the importance of testing.

These plain language resources are ideal for distribution at workplaces, child care centres, tenant and housing organizations, and to anyone concerned about their children’s health.

  • Home Safety for Your Kids’ Sake. A three-point home-safety checklist that encourages families to “check it today”: smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and radon test.
  • Reduce Radon. A simple tip card that describes what radon is, where it comes from and what you can do to protect children from this important lung cancer risk. Printed on durable card stock, this resource makes a great handout.
  • Radon Testing for Your Kid’s Sake. A free online fillable PDF mini poster for child care facilities to inform client families of radon testing at their centres.
  • Renovate Right. A practical brochure that describes ways to make sure a home repair or energy upgrade is child healthy. It includes radon testing advice.

All materials can be ordered online at http://www.healthyenvironmentforkids.ca.

Note: Many of these resources are available on the current CPCHE order form. These prices will be valid until December 31, 2015. As of January 1, 2016 the prices on the Radon Resources sheet will come into effect. Order by the end of 2015 to get the best price.
