Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health is accepting applications for a Research Associate with the Knowledge Management Division.  A main focus of the work of the Research Associate will be to evaluate public health programs. The Research Associate will also be involved in other research activities which contribute to evidence-based public health practice, including systematic reviews of the literature, research studies of public health interventions and the interpretation of surveillance data and research findings to support public health program planning.

The position requires a Master’s degree or higher in a field related to human health. Academic qualifications must include formal training in program evaluation and quantitative research methods applicable to public health. The ideal candidate will have experience which demonstrates the ability to conduct research independently, will be experienced in the analysis of health-related data using statistical software packages such as Stata, and will possess strong analytical and communication skills.  Program evaluation experience is required and experience in the Ontario public health system is an asset.

The successful candidate will report to the Associate Director of the Knowledge Management Division. The goal of Knowledge Management is to contribute to effective and efficient public health practice through surveillance, program evaluation, applied public health research and the dissemination of new knowledge.
